You’re a boss. You need a productive morning routine. You need a morning routine period. Honestly, what you do in the morning can make or break your entire day. Do you ever feel like no matter what you do, your day always turns to shit? Yeah, I felt the same way until I actually noticed what I was doing wrong. Now if you’re new, I am a college student so preparing for the next days and weeks ahead are extremely important to me. However, if I did not have a morning routine I would be screwed. So, listen, I’m your friend here and let’s be honest, people don’t really think about the next upcoming days until they happen. But we need to make sure that even if we slip up one day, we can balance everything out by setting our mourning routines up and following through.
Here’s why I do that, when you live day to day, you tend to lose track of what you want to do. For example, I am currently on a weight loss journey and that ONE Sunday when I decide to not to meal prep… I was eating everything in sight for that week. I will eat everything in sight and sometimes I’ll eat 15 times a day if my mama isn’t home. So, why do you need a morning routine? Because it allows us to actually be aware and planned.
Moral of the story is that when you don’t think about your next couple of days and trying to make it as successful as possible, you fall behind on what you feel like you wanted to do. And, that sucks. It sucks because then you start to feel like a failure and you say “if it ain’t one thing, it’s another.” Now, we can’t control everything that Satan tries to throw at us but at least we can make a goal for ourselves and work through it, every single morning. So, let’s get started with this productive morning routine!
1:) Have a weekly goal in mind and focus on each day at a time
They don’t have to be huge goals but it is something that you should feel like you’re working towards. By doing this, you are allowing yourself to make every day count. What I noticed is, when I don’t make a weekly goal, I forget everything that I need to do. If I don’t have a goal to meal prep this week, I told y’all I will eat my entire house up and my neighbors.
Make your goal and keep in mind how important that goal is to you. Then think about how this day is going to make that goal achievable. We want to be confident in ourselves to know that when we step out the door today, this day is going to matter.
2:) Plan your day the night before
I highly recommend doing this! You can do this in the morning, evening or night. It doesn’t matter, but the goal is to write down what you need to do, what your goals for the next day is, how much water you want to drink, any appointments you have, etc.
The reason why we are doing this is to make sure we know what we are facing and the feeling of being in control. There’s so many people who feel like no matter what they can’t get ahead, well that’s why you need to sit down and find your routine. It is so important to prep yourself and it makes sure that you are ready for the next day to come.
3:) Place your alarm clock away from your bed.
If you are always late and your bed is super comfortable, then you need to do this trick. It’s perfect because it makes you stand up and go to turn your alarm clock off. When you do stand up, people tend to naturally wake up when you’re forced to walk. So put that alarm clock/phone far far away from your bed and walk over there. And make sure you don’t hit snooze!
4:) Take your vitamins in the morning with a glass of water
Now, I know you’re thinking. Why? But, there are so many people who start to feel like you are losing energy throughout the day, feeling tired or stressed. But, there’s a reason why it’s great to take your vitamins in the morning. Vitamin B-12 is one of the biggest sources of energy. If you actually look at one of those energy shots, you will see caffeine and an extremely large dose of b-12. Why? Because it converts the food that you eat into energy. Glucose is the natural energy we need to be able to withstand the day so that’s why b-12 is so crucial. Plus, it’s amazing for brain health and focus that we will need to survive the day and make it successful.

5:) Start eating breakfast
So since I intermittently fasting, I have tried different schedules to see what works better for me. Some days it’s different but I noticed when I don’t have breakfast I’m so lethargic, if this sounds like you then maybe you should eat some breakfast.
Sometimes when you feel tired, you don’t have any caloric energy to sustain the day. This is important because in conjunction with your b-12, that food energy will be turned into glucose for energy to supply you! 6:) Wash that face girl/ Skincare routine
When we sleep, a lot of people tend to sweat at night. Natural dust falling on your face when you sleep, etc. We need to wash our face in the morning. It really helps to keep acne under control and removes debris, sebum, and makes your skin glow. Follow it up with your favorite serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. To wear makeup or to not, is all your decision. You’re beautiful with or without it.
7:) Check Your Email
Some of the most important information comes to our email. If you are waiting for a job offer or your business partnership. Whatever the case may be, check your email. Especially since you do not want to miss any important information. If you’re the boss babe then you need to since there could be important offers, ideas, and business opportunities for you just waiting on you!
8:) Remind Yourself That You are Worth Every Moment
Do you feel like hitting snooze a million times and not having the energy to go on? You need to remind yourself that every step you take, every minute that you are applying to be your best self is going to be worth it in the end. You’re substantial. You’re worth every moment of each step because you are bettering yourself. Sometimes it may feel like you’re not making any progress but ensure yourself that you actually are.
